Green Project in cooperation with EYsailing, organise the ground-braking sailing trips/photo workshops: “Green Photo Cruises”, for an unforgettable experiential contact with isolated sea ecosystems and remote endangered habitats, through photography!
This year, from 5th until the 16th of September 2017, we shall explore the unknown Ionian Sea! Starting from Lefkas and the most valuable “Natura 2000” area of the Oracle of the Delta of river Acheron with its unique flora and fauna, we will hike through the impenetrable little forests of Antipaxi and Meganisi, we will wonder around the old windmills and the submarine habitats of Kioni/Ithaca, the lagoon-caves of south-east Cephalonia, we will meet caretta-caretta turtles, rhinoceros dolphins (Delphinus rhinoceros), and posidonia oceanica colonies, just off the coast of Zante, we will get to know the Mediterranean seals monachus-monachus, living in the seal-holes of Kastos and finally, will escape to the desolate Strofadia islets, a migrating birds paradise, with its unique cedar-forest, part of the protected Marine Park of Zante!
All this secret natural beauty of the Ionian Sea, will unfold in front of your eyes, through a feast of magical pictures, which you will have the rare chance to gaze at, aboard our sailing yacht “Lito”! This trip will provide a unique opportunity to unveil the “photographer” inside you, with the assistance of award-winning photographer Yannis Tzortzis, Member of the Royal Photographic Society (RPS) of Great Britain, who will organise an environmental photography workshop, on board!
For your participation in this innovative cruise/workshop, you will obtain a “Certificate of Membership of the Green Project”, you will become a protagonist in the “Green Project Documentary”, while your photographs will be presented at the exhibition: “Green Photo Cruise 2017: The Ionian Sea”!
The Green Project actions are being held under the auspices of the Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO.
